These girls, underrepresented in the tech sector due to societal and structural challenges, often lack exposure to tech fields and role models. Despite these obstacles, they demonstrate a strong desire to improve their circumstances and contribute to their communities. Lumina seeks to harness their potential by offering comprehensive training, resources, and support to help them thrive in the tech industry.
Our tech hub in Delta State, equipped with 20 laptops and learning stations, serves as the heart of this initiative, offering a dynamic space for education and innovation. Through our ongoing 100 Girls Sponsorship Marathon, we are bridging the digital divide by providing participants with comprehensive training, access to the hub, and a strong community network. Following their training, these girls secure paid internships, focusing on remote opportunities that connect them to the global tech industry. They then engage in a 6-week Accelerator Workshop designed to enhance their skills and build professional networks, preparing them to thrive in global tech roles.
