OLEJU, the sustainability project under the Rural Development and Reformation Foundation (RUDERF), has reached a significant milestone in its journey towards global growth and impact. The project, which empowers marginalized women in rural and semi-urban Nigeria through skill acquisition in waste upcycling, has recently launched its first global sales network and e-commerce platform. OLEJU's growth includes the creation of its first online stores, integrated into the RUDERF website, which will soon be available to customers worldwide. This expansion marks a pivotal moment for the project, as it positions its handmade, eco-friendly products in the global marketplace. During the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Chicago, Illinois, USA, in 2019, OLEJU secured global sales partners who are committed to marketing and distributing its products internationally. This partnership will open doors to a broader audience, increase revenue, and significantly expand the reach of OLEJU's mission to empower more women in the Niger Delta region. The introduction of these global sales partnerships and the unveiling of the online store are key steps in OLEJU’s strategy to grow its brand globally, elevate its product offerings, and create sustainable economic opportunities for women in Nigeria. By harnessing the power of e-commerce and global collaborations, OLEJU is poised to reach new markets, creating jobs and fostering long-term change for women in disadvantaged communities. This expansion is set to drive more sales, support ongoing training and empowerment for women, and contribute to the global movement toward environmental sustainability and women’s empowerment.
