The award, presented by UNION BANK of Nigeria PLC, celebrates Sandra’s ability to transform her learning into real-world impact. As part of the recognition, Sandra received a monetary prize aimed at further scaling the OLEJU project, which empowers women in rural and semi-urban communities through training in upcycling waste into viable products. This platform enables women to become economically self-sufficient, contributing significantly to the growth of their local economies.

LEAP Africa’s Social Innovators Program is designed to support social entrepreneurs who are not only leaders in their field but also catalysts for systemic change. Sandra’s achievement highlights the increasing recognition of RUDERF’s mission and the broader movement toward empowering women and underprivileged groups across the Niger Delta region.

Sandra’s recognition as an Outstanding Fellow is a step forward in RUDERF’s ongoing efforts to build sustainable change and broaden the impact of its projects.
